How product story applies to eCommerce
Products are typically sold by talking about things like features and benefits, current price specials, glowing reviews, product photos, etc.
But these are table stakes not deal closers.
If your goal is to optimize conversion rates you need a killer product story.
Product stories that convert have 2 important building blocks:
— Why we exist, and
— Why this product must exist
“Why we exist”: this story aligns the buyer with the creator’s journey.
“Why this product must exist”: here we are letting the buyer know that for a very specific type of buyer there has never been a better product market fit.
